We're so excited to announce that our bass Glenda has been announced as the recipient of the 2020 Ann Gooch Award.
Sweet Adelines International made the announcement in the early hours of this morning.
"Established in 2001, the Ann Gooch Award recognizes Ann’s lifelong dedication to Sweet Adelines International and the advancement of barbershop music around the world. The award is given annually to non-North American members who have contributed significantly to the furtherance of barbershop in the worldwide arena.
Besides directing 2019 Harmony Classic Division AA Champion Brindabella Chorus, of whom she is a founding member, Glenda sings bass with 2018 Region 34 Champion, Debacle Quartet. She is an in-demand songwriter and arranger, and her song “Little Things” was runner-up in Sweet Adelines 2018 "Bursting With Song!" songwriting competition. Glenda is a member of the Sweet Adelines International Faculty Program and was a webcaster for the 2018 Harmony Classic Competition.
Thank you, Glenda, for bravely and exuberantly sharing your many talents with Sweet Adelines International!"

We're so excited - we are actually singing together in the same room!
We've had no COVID-19 in Canberra for five weeks, and have all been working from home in relative isolation, so we decided to get together and give it a go. First chords and we nearly cried, it was so good to actually have all four of us together.
Debacle Quartet were very excited to be performing virtually at the 2020 Sweet Adelines Australia "Unconvention".
This is the weekend that we would have been competing at our convention in Hobart, which of course isn't going ahead due to COVID-19. We're really excited that our Regional Management Team have set up this great online event to bring us all together - even if we can't actually BE together!
As part of the fun, we decided to have a costume change...every hour!
